CHARITY

The Deans Senior Tea Club Charity

In 2013 I began hosting free tea and cake afternoons for local elderly residents. I wanted to create a warm social gathering for the older residents of Saltdean to come together and to find companionship.  My hope is these afternoons promote wellbeing and combat loneliness by bringing people together to share stories over tea and cakes.

We have had a great response locally and have been supported by many heads of the community. At these gatherings we chat about all sorts of things, but we mostly laugh together and talk about the good old days.  I feel really proud to be working alongside and networking with other caring organisations and feel privileged and enjoy meeting such interesting people.

I am even being taught to sew by an 82 year old!

Working with others

We network and work alongside other ethical organisations that support our community and businesses that help others.

We are interested in hearing from other organisations who would like to get involved in supporting the elderly or would like to support our current or future projects.

We are especially keen to hear from organisations who wish to assist our members of The Deans Senior Tea Club. You can help by donating cakes and biscuits, offering transport options or volunteering to make tea for our members on Fridays!  If you can play the piano or offer healthier wellbeing or lifestyle techniques, please also get in contact with us.

If your business helps or supports our members you may be invited to our meetings and you could advertise your services.

Funders and Sponsors are also welcome to contact us!
